Arch Angel Gabriel Secondary School, Ifitedunu

Is a co-educational institute for both eligible boys and girls, in pursuance of the government’s objective of eradicating mass illiteracy and, in obedience to the Catholic Church in her relentless effort towards the promotion of quality education and moral standard. It is under the parochial patronage of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Community, Ifitedunu.

The school opened up officially on 19th September 2011 with 72 students. On the 14th day of May 2012, the school got the Government’s approval to establish a Secondary School from junior secondary one to junior secondary three. And on the 7th day of September 2016, the Anambra State Ministry of Education team of inspectors approved the school for Senior Secondary Examinations. That same year, subsequently, NECO officials approved the school as a center for NECO examinations up to date. However, the WAEC counterparts deferred their equivalent approval based on their insistence that our present Science Laboratories, located in the same building as our Nursery/Primary Section, must be relocated. This warranted the construction of, not just a new Science Laboratory Complex but, a state-of-the-art one.

The school offers all the approved school subjects in the National Curriculum for education with the French language, Computer science and Latin language inclusive. As a result of honest dedication and consistency in pursuit of academic and moral excellence, the school management attracted lovers of education. The establishment and management of the school had been to date as follows;

Rev. Fr. Christopher Azolibe - 2010 – 2014
Rev. Fr. Anselem Otie - 2014 – 2016
